Going out in style: UCCRF benefit strives for more well and healed

With a strut and a twirl, board members of the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation’s auxiliary board sashayed down the runway before 110 supporters for their annual “LUXE” Fashion Show on Sept. 28 inside Bloomingdales Old Orchard in Skokie. Founded in 1951 by North Shore resident, Stephanie Howell, the non-profit board’s mission is to fund UCCRF’s innovative research programs.

Since inception, the board has raised almost $3 million and in 2006, garnered Harper’s Society Award for its fundraising efforts. The event raised more than $80,000, with ten percent going to benefit UCCRF doctors. See more at: cancer.uchicago.edu/foundation/auxiliary-board.
