Going Out in Style: Breakthrough discoveries celebrated at annual gala

Some 480 supporters of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science (ACWIS) Midwest Region attended the annual gala on Nov. 11 inside the Fairmont Chicago. The event raised more than $1.3 million.

Led by Dr. Marilyn Perlman, of Glencoe, and Brian Price, of Highland Park, and emceed by Ilyce Glink, of Glencoe, the benefit raises funds for and celebrates remarkable achievements of ACWIS’ 3,800 scientists.

Chairman/CEO Paragon Biosciences Jeffrey S. Aronin, of Highland Park, was honored for his dedication to improving patients’ lives, particularly in areas of rare disease, through science and technology.
