Going Out in Style: Ladies Night Out raises money for cancer research

The University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation’s auxiliary board made mincemeat of holiday rushing around for 50 guests at their annual Ladies Night Out Charity Sip & Shop in Northfield on Nov. 30.

Guests enjoyed a leisurely pace to their shopping while raising critical funds for the foundation’s innovative research programs.

Ten percent of Sip & Shop proceeds went toward investing in innovation by giving unrestricted grants to establish research programs focused on prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer.

Founded in 1951 by a North Shore resident, the organization has raised nearly $3 million dollars.
